50 Cent has a net worth of $55 million according to Tecronet and Forbes Updates as of February 12, 2022. The American rapper, entrepreneur, producer, has earned $300 million from his various streams of income such as selling records, touring, and endorsement deals.



In 2022, his wealth plummeted considering he spent lavishly on real estate, cars, and lawsuits which caused him to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in July 2015.


In 2009, 50 Cent’s girlfriend filed a 50 million lawsuit which was later dismissed by Manhattan State Supreme Court Justice Carol Edmead. She dismissed Shaniqia Tompkins’ claims to half the rapper’s assets saying that the rapper’s financial worth is “set at no less than $50 million”.


The case was settled with Mrs. Tompkins receiving $6,700 a month for years to come for the purpose of taking care of their 12-year-old son Marquise.At the Cincinnati International Airport in May 2016, 50 Cent harassed, insulted a janitor at the airport claiming he was under the influence. Unknown to 50 Cent the janitor was an autistic and hearing impaired teenager.


The video went viral and the teenagers parents almost sued 50 Cent. They settled for a donation of $100,000 to Autism Speaks and an apology.


50 Cent purchased a 17-acre property in Connecticut. The mansion is a 50,000 square foot residence with 37 bathrooms, 21 bedrooms, a gym, a casino, and a nightclub.



He purchased the mansion at the brink of foreclosure from a bank that had kicked out the earlier owner Mike Tyson.50 Cent paid $4.1 million for the property and an additional $6 million on furnishings and upgrades adding a private movie theater, infinity pool, and a helicopter pad.



Sources say that he did this in order to be closer to his son who stayed at Long Island with his mother.

Sabrina was a drug dealer. She raised 50 Cent till she died in a fire when he was right. His father and mother were separated so he had to live with his grandmother thereafter.



50 Cent began selling drugs from the age of 11 in the 1980s when Crack was rampant. In the 10th grade, he was caught after bringing drugs to school by a metal detector at Andrews Jackson High School. After his arrest, he openly told his grandmother he sold drugs.50 Cent was apprehended on June 29, 1994, for selling vials of cocaine to an undercover police officer. He was arrested again three weeks later. The police had searched his home to find heroin, cocaine, and a starting pistol.



He served six months in a boot camp and earned a GED instead of three to nine years in prison on the account that he didn’t consume drugs.



50 Cent started his career by rapping in his friend’s basement to becoming one of the greatest rappers of all time.


In 1996, he was introduced to Jay of Run-DMC, the owner of Jam Master Records. Jay took 50 Cent under his wings and showed him how to count bars, write choruses, structure songs and make records. Jay also produced his first unreleased album.



50 Cent made his first appearance on React with Onyx for their 1998 album Shut’ em down. He credited Jam Master Jay for improving his ability to write hooks.



In 1999, 50 Cent left Jam Master Jay but was later signed to Columbia Records by the Track Master.


They sent him upstate to New York Studio where he produced thirty-six songs in two weeks, eighteen were included in his 2000 album called Power Of The Dollar. He founded Hollow Point Entertainment with former G-Unit member Bang em smurf.



50 Cent’s popularity grew after the successful, controversial underground single How To Rob which he wrote in a half-hour car ride to a studio. The track comically describes how he wanted to rob famous artists.




On October 13, 1996, 50 Cent’s girlfriend, Shaniqua Tompkins gave birth to their son Marquise Jackson. Although the relationship between Shaniqua and 50 Cent was called an unfortunate tale of love gone sour.


The two have been quarreling, in and out of court for years and have even taken their feud to social media.



Jackson had his second son with model Daphne Joy on September 1, 2012. His name is Sire Jackson.

50 Cent has had challenges over the years. On July 13 2015 he filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of Connecticut with a debt of $32,509, 549.91



His assets were listed between $10 million and $50 million in his bankruptcy petition which he denied saying he is with $4.4 million citing between $10 and $50 million in debt.



On May 24, 2000, 50 Cent was attacked by a gunman outside his grandmother’s former home in South Jamaica. After getting into a friend’s car, he was asked to return to the house to get some jewelry. His son was in the house while his grandmother was in the front yard.


50 Cent returned to the back seat of the car and another car pulled nearby, an assailant walked up and fired nine shots at close range with a 9mm handgun. He was shot in the hand, arm, hip, both legs, chest, and left cheek.


His face wound resulted in a swollen tongue, the loss of a wisdom tooth, and a slightly slurred voice, his friend was wounded in the hand. They were driven to the hospital where 50 Cent spent three days. The alleged attacker Darryl Baum Mike Tyson’s close friend and bodyguard was killed three weeks later.


He used a walker for six weekends ad fully recovered after five months. He stayed with his girlfriend and son in the Poconos when he left the hospital and his workout regime helped him develop a muscular physique.

50 Cent is on the Board of Directors of G-Unity Foundation which provided grants to nonprofit organizations that work to improve the quality of life for low-income and under-served communities.



In July 2011, Jackson launch a philanthropic initiative to provide food for one billion starving people in Africa by 2016 joining Pure Growth Partners to introduce Street Kings. A portion of the proceed from each Street Kings purchase would be used to provide a daily meal to an underprivileged child.
