Biffy Clyro are a Scottish rock band that formed in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire in 2003 and is comprised of Simon Neil (guitar, lead vocals), James Johnston (bass, vocals), and Ben Johnston (drums). Biffy Clyro’s music is influenced by a variety of musical influences (drums, vocals). They are now signed to 14th Floor Records and have released six studio albums, three of which, Puzzle, Only Revolutions, and Opposites, peaked in the top five of the UK Albums Chart. They are currently signed to 14th Floor Records. With their sixth studio album, Opposites, they also became the first band in history to have an album debut at number one on the UK Albums Chart. Following the release of their first three albums, the band saw a significant increase in their fan base with the release of their fourth, Puzzle, in 2007. On this album, they wrote more mainstream songs with simpler rhythms, separating themselves from their more unusual dissonant style that had been present on their previous three albums. Puzzle peaked at number 2 on the official UK album charts on June 16, 2007, according to Billboard. The album was certified Gold in the United Kingdom after selling more than 100,000 copies, and it was subsequently certified Platinum in the same country after selling more than 300,000 copies. Biffy Clyro’s fame grew even further in 2008 and 2009 with the release of the songs “Mountains” and “That Golden Rule,” both of which peaked in the top ten of the UK Singles Chart in their respective years. Only Revolutions,

their third studio album, debuted at No. 3 on the UK album chart in 2009 and became gold within days of its release, eventually reaching platinum in 2010. The album was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize that year. Mountains, “That Golden Rule,” and “Many of Horror,” all of which entered the UK Top Ten, were among the big songs on Revolutions’ only album. The later song peaked at number eight on the UK Singles Chart after being recorded by Matt Cardle, the winner of The X Factor 2010 competition. It went on to become the number one Christmas single in the United Kingdom for the year 2010.
